Camera Drivers
In techie talk a driver or a device driver is a software interface between two different devices. In the case of a camera it is the software interface between your pc or laptop and the camera. Often the camera is attached to the computer with a USB plug equipped cable, other times the memory card is removed from the camera and then inserted in a USB equipped peripheral. Either way you will need the current state of the art camera driver very specifically for your camera. Some models of cameras may use the same software and this is handy but others are very specific, but you must always use camera drivers that are recommended for your brand and model of camera.
When you upgrade your pc or when you get a new one you will want to check for a newer iteration of camera drivers to handle you cameras upload. If you do not have the correct driver you may experience a slowdown in the transfer of your pictures from your camera to your pc. It is also possible that your pictures could be lost in the interface between the camera and the pc. So keep your camera drivers up to date and avoid these problems.
