Game can be defined as a number of any kinds of structured activities. It usually involves the participation in the particular kinds of games. A role-playing game (RPG) is a game in which the fictional characters are assumed by the participants. The participants decide the action of their characters on the basis of their characterization, and the actions either fail or succeed accordingly to the formal system of guidelines and rules. The outcome and the direction of the games are shaped by their choices. Role playing games are basically different from other types of games. In that they focus on collaboration and social interaction, whereas card games, board games and sports emphasize the competition. Role playing games are generally a form of collaborative storytelling and interactive. Like films or novels, role playing games appeal since they engage the imagination. Interactivity is considered to be the crucial difference between the traditional fiction and role playing games. Generally role playing games are extended on the basis of an older tradition of story telling games, in which a small group of friends collaborate in order to create a story. Most of the role playing games is generally conducted like a radio drama. In the role playing games, when the players perform their characters physical actions, then it is termed as live-action role playing games (LARP). Simple forms of the role playing games that exist in traditional children’s games are “cops and robbers” “playing house” and “cowboys and Indians”. Role playing games generate a level of persistence and sophistication to the idea of basics.
